Gli antichi e il divino
L’arte egizia si sviluppa lungo oltre tre millenni di storia, dal 3100 a.C. circa (unificazione dell’Alto e Basso Egitto) fino alla conquista romana (30 a.C.). Fortemente legata alla religione e al culto dei defunti, essa riflette una visione del mondo ordinata e armonica, in cui l’arte era uno strumento per garantire l’eternità e la connessione con il divino. Gli dei egizi — come Ra, Iside, Osiride, Anubi e Horus — erano rappresentati in forma umana o animale, e il faraone stesso era considerato una divinità terrena, mediatore tra uomini e dei. L’arte, dunque, non era “decorativa” ma sacra e funzionale: serviva a proteggere, celebrare e garantire la vita dopo la morte.
