• SOS BY SZA — The SOS album cover recreates a famous 1997 photograph of Princess Diana. At the time, the photograph showed Diana alone on a yacht, but after her death a week later, its meaning changed. It became connected to her final days, showing how time can change the way we remember an image. SZA chose this image because she was drawn to its feeling of isolation. From her perspective, she transforms Diana’s existing memory into something personal: a person alone in the ocean, paired with the title SOS, suggesting vulnerability and a need for help.
